Kalapana Seaview is located on the Big Island of Hawaii in the lower Puna District, Southeast of Hilo. This unique residential rural community was created in the mid-1970’s, less than 20 years after the area was covered by the 1955 lava flow. Kalapana Seaview is now the beautiful ocean-side home to a diverse community of people who enjoy the peace and tranquility of rural living in a tropical climate.
The climate is warm and residents can typically depend on enough rainfall to supply their catchment systems. All Seaview’s streets are paved and maintained by the County. Kalapana Seaview Estates has three community-owned parks: the two-acre ocean park providing residents a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the ocean view, the upper park with a covered pavilion and volleyball nets where a variety of activities occur, and a third park which remains unimproved for future use.
